Well I actually just need the inner sheave...its the one that slides over the crank. They are $170 new....part #59302-0003
The hole that slide over the crank is messed up I think. Even when I torque it to spec I can take the bolt back out and just pull it off with my hands...don't even have to use the puller. I can ride it and as soon as I get on it...WOT the it will tighten up just a tad and the Fins will hit that little aluminum cover....it will only slide up a VERY small amount. I thought it was the Crank.....I called Superbogger750 and thats is what we thought....but The crank has NO play....I mean NO movement....its not sliding in or out any. I call Johnny out Good tech and he just came in the shop a minute ago to look at it for me. He said the crank was fine...but he had never seen one do that.... He said if may be when the primary closes up at WOT its causing it to do that....Crap...I'm not even sure...LOL! I am sitting here watching him mess with it.....lol. He thought it was the crank like everyone else...but he said the crank bushing are just fine and so was the end of teh crank.
Ok....never mind on this. Thanks to nmkawierider.... Thanks...he helped me with out knowing it. I got it fixed now.....Or atleast I think it is....I am like 99% sure it is. I can't ride it again till tomorrow evening. Here is what happened.
When I use my puller I put grease on the threads of it like the directions say...I have done this more times than you know....well a small amount of grease had built up in the primary where it slides on the crank....it was enough to make it real slick and when I hit it WOT it would push the primary up just a TINY bit and the fins would hit the aluminum piece..it would only go so far....kinda like over tightening it....well after I read his post above about what he did...I went and cleaned my up good put it on hand tight and had to us the puller to get it off....before I could torque it to spec and then pull it off by hand cause of the film of grease inside it...... I will let you all know for sure tomorrow or Tuesday....but like I said I believe I got it.
You the man.....I will let you know for sure....but I think that small film of Grease is what it was. I know I am an Idiot...I should had wiped it off....:banghead:
You are correct Sir....we have part bikes at work we do that with a lot. All Brute Primarys will work on prairies & vise versa. The only thing I am not sure is the 02 & 03 Prairies....I have never done it to one of them....do you know if it work on them IBBruin??? If so that will be a great help to me.
The only thing I've ever tried it on was my Prairie. I don't know if the part numbers for the 02-03 is the same as the 04. hondarecoveryman may be able to tell us though.
yep they all interchange from a 09 750i all the way back to the 400 prairie , all kawasaki CVT Primary clutches are the same , Bootlegger you should get a Comet 103hpq !!! the transfer rate on the sheaves is incredible !!!! , They do end to make a bit more noise than a kawi clutch at idle
Cool...thanks....can you run EPI springs in it I wonder?
