Kawasaki Clutch Spring Chart

(Update) Heres a link to the spring chart that phreebsd made using the below information. It's well done and easer to read.

http://www.mudinmyblood.net/forum/vi...tchspringchart

OK i have taken the time to put together a spring rate chart. I have collected these numbers from many different places on the net. I have tried to cross reference the numbers the best i could with other sources to be as sure as i could they are right. I have not actually check any of these springs with a scale. This info has been collected from the internet only in this case. If you have actually tested one of these springs and know the info posted here is wrong please let me know and i will change it on the list.Any help is appreciated.

Some of these numbers have been rounded to the nearest whole so there may be small deferences but not much.

Since you see EPI and Dalton springs both listed in lbs and Kg i tried to list both to help clear up any confusion.

My hopes are that this chart will help some with understanding of how each springs compares to another.

Primary Spring

If you will notice EPI and Dalton use a slightly different load measurement for the middle number on the primary spring. EPI is listed at 2 1/4" while i read some were that Dalton is listed at 2" ......I could be wrong about this.If someone can clear it up it would be appreciated.

hey if you would like i can take this and create it's own page and put it in the site nav box like the tire weight chart and carb jet chart.
It's up to you bro! I'd be happy to do it. You did a good job. I can clean up the chart part and put it in tables. I can also set it up so you can edit the page and maintain it.

Thats cool. Anything to make it better and I'm all for it.Plus it will always be easy to find. Do your thing bro.

I felt like we(the kawie brother hood) needed this chart. I know my self that I've spent many hours in the past scouring the sites and trying to find different spring numbers to compare them just to forget them later on or be totally confused because some of the numbers would be in lbs and the others in kg.

MIMB is quickly becoming one of the best go to sites for easy to find ATV mods. So i could not think of a better place to post it.

I have got a quick question and explination doesnt have to be very detailed just simplify it.
What do the numbers that correspond to these mean for primary

the 2.5 is the stall right?

that's how many pounds it takes to compress it to that size.
as far as which one equates to what, i think the 2.5" is the engagement.
So you can gauge, the higher the number the higher the stall.
I think that's right...

I think I'm explaining this right.

With the clutches setting still and not moving the springs are at 2 1/2'' long in the clutch. When the clutches are maxed out all the way the spring will be compressed to 1 1/4" long or as far as they will go.

The numbers you see under these measurements are the amount of force the spring is putting on the clutch at that length.

As for engagement. What ever the first number is with a particular primary spring, say it's 25lbs.Thats the amount of force from the spring that the primary is gonna have to over come for the primary to engage the belt. Thats why the springs with a lower number have less of a stall.
