OK, just wondering what vent lines need to be redone? I got all the snorkel parts from Lowes yesterday, and got my bike torn apart... just wanna make sure I get it all right the first time...

I did the same as guarino. It was a pain to get it EXACT so I jsut "cut to fit" as it was in place. It's ALL covered under neath that "ring" but all in all, it still looks GREAT!!!!

Thanks for the awesome write up.....

Hey guys, new to the forums here. I am getting ready to do my snorkels according to the write up on here and came across a question. On here, I read that the 08+ Brute's need the 22.5* fitting for the CVT exhaust. On Kawieriders, I read that the 22.5* is to work around a valve for the EFI. Well I have a 09 650i which you know is carbureted, so do I need the 22.5* fitting?

u wont need it.
the 22.5* is only to clear the ISC valve on the EFI brutes.

I just put the MIMB snorkels on my Brute, and I just want to say thank you, it was a great write up, lots and lots of help. Also, what else do I need to do to make my bike "water tight"?

OK I mimb'ed out the bike this weekend. Write up was great but it was a PITA to an extent. Question I have is the way the pipe runs on the right side from the belt causes the plastic to bow a bit. Anyone else have this issue? It just does not fit over like it was stock. I have the pipe all the way in as far as it would go. All the holes line up but you can tell it hits right under the shifter. other than that is looks mint.

Cool Barely noticeable. Will post some pictures as i positioned mine a bit different. I have rear set back with left and right coming foreward. I like it. One last question. what and how are you guys cutting the shroud with and how do you get the nice scalloped cuts?

Nice... the shroud is fun to cut... I butchered mine up... Just have to have patience and figure out the best way to do it... I didn't have anything good to cut it with so I used a jigsaw...

One other thing, I'm assuming the fuel injected models are good to go without affecting the air flow, but on my carbed bike, when I had the snorkels short like yours, it was running really lean and needed a rejet. But I extended the snorkels about 12" high, and it runs like a champ now...

I will find out. Easy to extend with rubber couplers.

Thanks for the write up, awsome info.. Just finished mine up with the help of MIMB!! Got a question tho, does everyone's rubber 90• hit the clamp that holds the steering stem on? Mine is right against it and wondered if anyone has this same issue?
