TO shock cover or NOT to shock cover, that is the question

I never thought about shock covers till the other day when I was cleaning mud out of the Shocks, or should I say clay.

Has anyone had experience with them, and what did you think of them? Did they work ok with mud or is it just a cosmetic thing?

Great for sport-bikes for helping keep out dust/sand, but as noted above in the mud/water they simply hold crud in causing more grief.

Got em on mine (came with the atv).
They actually work pretty good while your getting muddy.
But I'd clean and dry them after a muddy ride tho.
They do hold in moisture and would rust the springs.
Seems to me the ones I have would last for a couple of years + if you took care of them before they would wear out.

Thanks for the input.
I'm going to stay away from them considering all we ride in is MuD

I agree, don't use them. I had them on my Grizzly for awhile and the mud and grit got inside and rubbed the paint dull. When you go through creeks the mud will rinse away easier without covers also.

Grizzly 700 EPS (sold)
