2004 twin peaks 4 by 4 not working

I have a 2004 twin peaks. The indicator keeps flashing from 2w to 4w and the front wheels do not engage. I am 67 and only i use it for hauling wood and plowing snow and dragging deer home.
Is there any way to eliminate the electrical parts and make it a full time four wheel drive? I don't want to put a lot of money in it as it is already beat up and not worth much but with the 4 by 4 working it is just what i need.
Thanks for any help. Stan

they weren't that popular, so there's not a lot of repair information out there that I know of...

however the 4x4 system should be the same across the suzuki platform... I just don't know anything about them.

They are the exact same bike as the kawasaki prarie...actually suzuki used the kawasaki motor in them and just labeled them suzuki on the clutch cover....
