Progress!! After much time and trials and a few layout revisions We've managed to print our own circuit boards to make sure the design is just right before mass production!

I give you part number ws003

Circuit board with design printed on it

Then it goes for a soak in a chemical bath that eats all the copper off of the board except what is covered in black. Then holes are drilled for various components and connections.

Then the components and wires are soldered in.

Now I'm waiting for the enclosures to come in they're back ordered for another week. Once I get those I'll install the module in the case and pour epoxy over the board to seal it inside and waterproof the unit. The cases are moulded with flanges so mounting should be easy!

Thanks for checking up on me. Things have been rough but we are chugging along in low gear.

These haven't been back burnered or anything, in fact I've converted a spare bedroom in the house to a mad science lab of sorts! I've been working on this thing evenings as well tweaking the code and getting the audio interface just right.

I put up a cork board with the specs on the unit and other info at a glance.

My bench with the last component prototype. The audio module! The strobe unit will have the option of an integrated spectrum analyzer; meaning you can plug your iPod/phone/mp3 player into it then the unit into your audio system and have your underglow beat to the music! The audio spectrum is divided into bands so it will offer a degree of tune ability to tailor the light show to your personal tastes.

All that is left to do is incorporate this circuit into the final design and add the code that runs the audio module to the micro controller.

As soon as I have the design finalized we will be taking pre-orders on the unit! Shooting for the end of this month!

All that being said our next project is going to be a waterproof Bluetooth adapter with controls, allowing you wireless control over your audio system!

I am also kicking around the idea of figuring out can bus communication which would be handy interfacing / configuring computer options on newer cars/bikes if anyone has suggestions for future bulletproof atv products drop me a line!

We're excited too! Based on the number of interested customers I plan on ordering enough components for about 50 or so of these first run Barring we don't discover some insane design flaw that should be enough to fill the orders and have some left over!

Just an update on the remote module guys, we've got everything in, enough to build 60 or so of them for a first run. We're working on getting the final version built this weekend. Provided there's no unforseen hangups we will have a full scale demo video (on a four wheeler) up and a couple of these stress testing over the next week or so.

In addition we have slowly started collecting how-to's and articles that we've contributed to different forums over the years and have begun putting them on our website.

So far there's a pretty neat guide on bringing chalky, faded plastics back to life. Some fiberglass info, and an article about how a lot of amplifier manufacturers out there are bold face liars. So hop on over and check out what's new on www.whoolie.com !

Strobe Module News!!
Just finished up the first complete module here in the Mad Science lab. All that's left to do is pour the epoxy to waterproof it. On the test bench it's nothing short of fantastic I am really happy with the patterns and way this thing operates. If you're one of the ones that's been patiently waiting for the new strobe module fear not! The wait is nearly over!

I will make a formal announcement on our site, email everyone (that is on the waiting list) and start posting videos in the next week or so as soon as we have enough of these ready to go!
