I have a 2008 BF 650i, chipped, snorkels, hmf pipe, k&n air filter, clutch kit. It has a hard time starting when it's cold and farts through the carbs at idle and when riding. If it's idling.. its fart through the carb and kill the engine.

I looked at the needles and they're shimmed at the 4th notch(two washers on each needle). Jets are 136f and 134r.

They guy I bought the quad from gave me a dj155 and dj150 which I haven't put in yet..

Think I should ?

They (the carbed models) have always been cold natured period, and even harder to start when the weather turns cold.
So that part doesn't seem concerning. The fact that it continues to be an issue even after warming up though, could mean the jets need some adjusting. I'm not an expert on jets by any means so I can't really help with size & recommendation but we do have an old thread here that's FULL of good jetting info.

What Jet's are you running, with your mods....

I have noticed people are still asking about what jets to use. I know we have a jetting thread but would it make sense to make another one and only have what your wheeler is what your running for jetting and mods you have. So people can look through see if other people have the same mods as them...
