Not many suzuki folks on here but worth a shot at asking....
My sons eiger SOMETIMES seems to have a slipping clutch when wet, 1 minute out of the water then its fine and strangely it very occasional even when getting wet all day. Anyone have any thoughts about why?

Very odd behavior. I dont have any speculations :(

No clutch manual, I gather this is the semi ato you speak of, that's what his bike is.

is it a V-belt or a 5-speed automatic

if its a V-belt and you donot have snorkels just belt sliping snorkel that mofo if your going in water

5-speed auto clutch, not the belt.
