I found these holders at Canadian tire for $2.99 if that makes it easier, was also sold at all 3 local auto shops (lordco, princess auto and jb auto) Im sure there is an American equivalent for everyone else!
just googled "Weatherproof ATO/ATC Fuse Holder" and i got this site to get them for $1.47 a piece, not a bad deal if you ask me for what it is! For ten its $22 shipped.
i see all of these are 30 amp. is 30 amps whats in the fuse holder or are these a bit overkill?. I dont have the brute near to look and Id like to do this easy mod next month after my next ride.
No, the main fuse is 30 amp. The rest are 10 amp. These are overkill for those, yes. I thought the same thing while I was soldering a 10 gauge wire to an18 gauge wire. They work though.
----that is all---
Thanks, yeah I was thinking a 10 amp it would be a 12 onto a 16 or 18 gauge. Theres gotta be 10 amp waterproof inline fuse holders out there. I'll see if my supplier for electrical can find some.
Went to napa and got those water proof fuse holders, for some reason, theres only 3 fuses in my fuse box...anyway. I was just about ready to cut, and solder and all that, but i chickend out and squirted half tube of dielectric grease in everything instead.. I wonder if silicone would have been good too in the bottom connection .... Perhaps some day. Thanks for persuadeing me to help prevent fails...
I just ordered these holders. Do you think this would be the reason that when i turn the headlights on, the engine slows rpm's and does? It runs fine if the lights are off.
Here is the start to my fuses on my 05 750. I removed the stock fuse holder set up, and mounted the new fuses on the OEM fuse holder plate after drilling 2 new hole and running a bolt and nut through the new fuse holders. Now have to just solder wires together. When all said and done, the new fuse wires will route below the new fuses, and I'll post the finished pic too.
I just got a 13 brute 750 and don't look the same our I'm missing them are they just under seat this is mine there is like 8 fuses under the little cover
got some coming. hope this helps the random no starts (no fuel pump prime), sputtering under load (some times), stalling under load and back firing issues!
if not, guess i should be doing this anyway.
