Hello all, I have been having issues with my bruteforce 750 backfiring when accelerating. I took the carbs apart, cleaned them, it helped but has not been the fix. I did notice that when I cover the intake of each carb while it is idling, covering the front carb the motor dies, covering the back carb has little to no effect on the running of the motor. I also noticed it is backfiring through the rear carb. Any ideas on where to go from here? Valve gap maybe?
Yeah check the valve lash first. Then it's common for the carb boots to get splits at or under the head-side clamps. Hard to see unless you remove them.
I checked the valve clearance and still did not do it. Removed the boots from the carbs to the intake and did not find any issues with them. I am now stumped.
Everything above checked out. I was able to figure it out, the needle on the rear cylinder was messed up. Not sure how, but it was. Put new needles in it and boom! Back to being a wheelie machine. Thanks for the help.
