Here is how i ran my crank case vent and gas vent up to the pod. Both were super easy to do. I took a few pics.

Here you can see the crank case vent. I just spiced the new hose to the old hose with a plastic connector and ran it along the frame rail with zip ties to keep it of the exhaust. Then up to the pod. I plugged the hole in the air box with silicone.

In this pic you can see were i removed the check valve from the frame. There is a hole were it was in the frame which i did fill with silicone after i took the pic.The check valve is made of plastic and is a two piece unit so i siliconed around were it joins together just in case it ever decided to leak. I started to totally remove the check valve but decided against it. The valve will not let gas fumes to escape the take unless enough pressure builds up. I figured this is a good thing so I left it in line. The bad thing about the check valve is that it only works one way. This means it keeps gas fumes in but will easy let water in if it gets in the frame so it's a good idea to run this up if you have not already done it.

Here you can see both vent lines at the pod. I was not comfortable with leaving the crank case line open at the end. I figured this was a good way for dust to get in the oil so i picked up a filter at the parts house. This way it still breaths fine but is filtered. This whole little project cost lest the $10 to do.I got every thing except the the crank case vent filter at Lowe's.Both runs of hose were 6 foot long. I trimmed them to fit. Both ended up less then 6 foot but i did not measure the final size. As long as you get 6 foot to start with you will be fine. The size of the crank case hose is 1/2 ID. For the gas tank vent line i used 5/16 but 1/4 will work as well.

What are the advantages of running the crank case vent to the pod VS leaving it where it is? I have recently snorked my bike, should I just go ahead and do these as well? What will happen if I choose not to?

im doing mine (crank case) because it likes to puke oil into the air box. im actually doing the catch can MOD instead.

They vent air... The crank case vent is just so the oil pressure doesn't get too high... The gas tank vent actually is to let air IN I believe... There is a check valve on top that allows air to come in the tank as the fuel level drops... Otherwise you would have a vacuum in the tank and eventually ur fuel pump would not be able to suck the gas out... And yes u need to run both vents to the pod...

Nope. Leave it alone. If the airbox gets full of water, you will have more to think about then the little that goes down the tube....IMO...lol
What do you mean? I'm snorkeling my 08 brute soon so I want to know every thing I can. I shouldnt run my crank case vent up because if water gets in my air box some will drip into the vent instead of all of it going down the intakes?

He means if you get water in the airbox, it isnt really going to matter if the crank vent is still in the box, b/c if waters is in there, %99 of the time its in the motor regardless of weather the crank vent is there or not.

If you like to do wheelies and water wheelies a lot, I say go on and re-route it. Or do the catch-can mod....

Exactly...Thanks P425. Just keep your box dry...and seal that duckbill.

Kinda hard to take a picture of it , here is how I found mine , if your sitting on the bike and you look down at your airbox with the lid off , this duck bill is in the front right hand corner of the airbox . Now , go under the airbox in the front right corner with a flashlight and feel around the front corner with your fingers , you will feel and see 2 rubber flaps , they are not big , held on with a clamp , very hard to see without taking some plastics off .

If you look down at your airbox and where the front screw that holds the Plastic thing the air filter goes around , if you stick your finger down by there to the right abit , you will feel a hole , this is where your duckbill attaches to.

Hopefully this helps.
