I have a newly acquired 2008 750i brute force and it came with the a seemingly small problem but is turning out to be widely unsolved. My machine turns over no problem it idles great and has full power for a few minutes but then I get half to a quarter throttle and it sputters and backfires a bit. But the most confusing part to everyone I've encountered is that if I hit the kill switch twice really fast it has full brute power for a small amount of time. I've talked to mechanics and brute owners and they are stumped. Even a Kawasaki mechanic with 18 years experience are at a loss. The fuel pump was changed and a in line fuel filter was installed. New wires, new coils and new plugs. My only idea is maybe the Tps sensor but it's supposed to be bulletproof but I'm running out of options. There are lots of threads about this but the problem never seemed to get solved. Please anyone that can help me or give me any ideas where to look would be appreciated.

Check your fuel pressure so you can rule that out. Just because the pump was changed doesn't mean it's working properly. It must be 43 psi. Is the FI light blinking? It could be a bad connection in the electrical. I'd seperate, clean, and re-dielectric grease every connection too.

I've been going through my wiring and checking every connection and putting die electric grease where I can. Ground seemed tight I'm gonna disconnect it and try cleaning it up any way. I've load tested my battery and it's fine same with the charging system. And there's no lights blinking. It idles amazing and only shows real problem when you give it a lot of gas which is why the fuel pump was changed but I will test the pressure and make sure I'm hitting 43 psi.

ECU crapping out. Hitting the kill switch reset the controller.
.......... Or not. But it's worth a shot. Are you running a stock ECU?

Having the same issue with my 08. It's been driving me nuts. When the bike is cold, it runs great, once it warms up I lose all power above have throttle. I checked TPS voltage and it is reading fine, I changed plugs, I put in a new fuel pump not long ago. Everything on the bike seems to be a go. I am supposed to be putting a Muzzy pipe and programmer on in a few weeks, but would really like to sort this out before I do that.

Here is a video of what mine does after half throttle. Almost sounds like a rev limiter.

Just a lil tidbit. If you run an inline filter make sure it can handle the PSI. A lot of these filters will only handle 5-7 PSI. It's definitely something to check plus quick and easy.
