I snorkelled my 12 brute a little while ago, and i noticed how hot my cvt exhaust was getting, so just wondering how hot is too hot, i was out riding for about 2 hours and she was pretty toasty

It gets pretty warm in there but I don't think anyone has taken a temp reading before and after snorkels. The only fan it has is the fins on the back of the primary so lengthening the intake and exhaust will slow the flow down some. I would guess if you start smelling rubber and loosing belts...that's a good sign its too hot...lol

Make sure your rubber pipe on the inlet side is not bent in an odd way (crimped over) this will cause less air flow also. I had to shorten my pvc pipe just a little to make mine straighter

I thought there would be a rubber factory coupler going into the cvt intake. And attached to the pvc .. Then up to the top...havent really looked at The snork instructions for the 12 . Realy didnt think that much had changed

yeah there is a little coupler about 2 inches long. i had to put a 45 to a 90 with a piece of pipe to another 90 then a piece of pipe to the 90 running straight up

I was wondering the same thing, I left my hand in front of it for a few seconds and burned my hand a bit. I was thinking of turning both cvt snorkels to try to get more air flow in there.
