The jetting went fairly easy, I did have to go down some to 145F & 150R, 42 Pilots 2 3/4F, 2 1/2R turns on the air/fuel mixture screws and drop to 1 #4 washer on each needle. I also used 1" pipe for the actual crossover.
Needless to say, as long as I can get traction, I have no problem with wheelieing, otherwise, I throw dirt everywhere behind me from spinning :rockn:
This mod is definatly gives you alot of bang for the buck and can tell a big difference in the seat on power. :woot::rock-on:
I was able to get all the jets/pilots I needed from JetsRUs without any problems.
Yes in theory the jetting would be even front and rear seeing as the Muzzy has equal length headers and with the xover each cylinder can now draw from both carbs.
Drawing from both carbs is why you usually have to go down on jetting on a stk internal motor with stk air box because it now acts as one big carb.
I had the same prob when I did it.....TRACTION LOL!
You will have more of an issue lol. Get better tires and then you will have a new issue....wheelies! Then fix that issue with an extended swinger and..................

Yup, I have the wheelie problem now as long as I have good traction, otherwise I throw mud and dirt everywhere behind me....lol I feel sorry for who ever is behind me from now on when I am in the mud :rockn::nana:
As for the jetting, I didn't have 2 jets the same size, so I tried a 145f AND 148R and it was cutting out on WOT, so I changed the rear to a 150 and it stopped the cutting out, so I left it alone. Needless to say, I have plenty of power....he he he
well, i just got finished putting a crossover in my bike and installing the pump. i used 1" alum. tube, urethane sealer and a mr gasket 42s pump. just gonna let the sealer cure overnight and fire her up in the moning. i dont have 42 pilots yet, and i have jets one size up and down form whats in there(140f144r).... cant wait!
AWESOME! good mod! i thought i had jets smaller than what i had in there, but i dont so its running a bit rich, but still very noticable diverence in power! i had to go down to 1 brass shim on each needle and 4 turns out on the air screws, will definetly be better when my 42 pilots get here (ordered off ebay for 5 bucks each). bit of a stumble if you just jam on it from stand still (pilots) and rich top end. should only get better form here!
also polished the slides, took all of 30 min.
Yeah once you get your 42 pilots you will be able to go back to a reasonable setting on the screws and it will only get better with the right jetting. Hows the traction issue? LOL.
