I did this mod yesterday and it works great but I used a 4 post relay and the 2wd and 4wd on display is opposite what it actually is. Does a 5 post relay solve this? Or what relay do I need?
My kebc will not stop making the noise after you cut it off, so I've been having to disconnect the battery if I plan on letting it sit for a while. I'm wondering if this would benefit me from having to not buy another KEBC. I've already cleaned it once and it worked the first two times I turned the key off, but now it's doing it again. lol
The past few day's I haven't had time to do the mod. So when the bike is sitting, I have disconnected the KEBC so that it will not drain the battery (since it keeps making noise after you shut the bike off and will not stop) and it's flashing back and forth between 2WD and 4WD. Do I need to make sure that it's not flashing before I do the mod?
Also, when I go to put it in 4WD, will the 4WD light up on the cluster? If not, are you running a light that comes on when you put it in 4WD?
Ahhh, ok. I was under the impression that you wired an external light to come on when you flip the switch. Mod will be done tonight. Thanks woodbutcher!
I just did the mod, BUT the bike was in 4WD when I before I started working on it (if this matters). I did the mod, but when I select to put it in 2WD on the handlebars, the screen shows 4WD and vise versa. Any thoughts? lol
u need to remove the acturator and slide the coupler back to 2x4 on the front diff. jump power to actorator and get it to rotate back to the 2x4 position

remove the 4x4 acturator from front diff. stick ur finger in the hole on diff and slide the coupling back toward the motor , its a square u shaped in side. hook a + and - to the acturator to make the motor run and get it back in to position to fit back in the u shaped piece on the coupling
