Alright I have a 07 brute force 750 I ran it out of oil and messed up the crank bearings I was wanting to know if I can put a 840 bore kit in it. Will this beable to work bc I been wanting to do it to my bike and have a chance to do it now will the kit come with everything I need?

Depends if all you burned up is just the crank bearings and didnt cause any other damage to the bottom end. For the most part the 840 is pretty much just the top end of the engine. I'd recommend hitting up DSC....one of our sponsors here. They can definitely work with you and get you pointed in the right direction.

you more than likely have crank damage as well if you have the budget there is a billet 999cc stroker kit that comes with a crank and everything else you would need :flames: definatly a tad spendy but also really curioius to see how they do......dont think too many people used em on the brutes yet......i know there is a few teryx but.....would also need additional cooling, and oil cooler etc. but the the thought is definatly in my head if i ever have to split cases.......

^that would be bad to the bone, but unless the bike is being raced I think the 999cc would be a bit excessive and definitely not as trail friendly or dependable. ...just my .02, but I wouldn't build over an 840cc....they've been proven to be very dependable motors for general use, PLUS you can still run regular pump gas through most of them.

its supposed to be good for OVER 100 RWHP!!!!!!......goodbye tranny, diffs, and driveshafts...lol

am still thinking about the 916 though this winter (unstroked version) pretty big and nasty and i dont think the heat problems would be as bad in billet.......and you still get to keep stock components to go back to stock bore if it dont turn out to be reliable....(no core on billet components) very spendy but dam that would be fun!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Filty 840 is plenty, imo brute drive train can't hold up to the DSC stg 1 840 with mud tires 29.5+..IF your running mud tires I'd recommend std bore kit, the bigger size is awesome but the damage it will cause.. sucks.

Spinning 29.5's with the 840 feels like a tire size smaller then stockers ridiculous power. It's freaking awesome working on it ALL THE TIME...not so much.

there is also a guy on here selling reman crank and rods for $200 and you ship him the cores........

The 840 bore kit comes with JE pistons DSC #2 custom cams H/D valve springs Re- Nikasil cylinders Head and base gaskets will this fix my problem or will I just have to get my motor rebuilt?

#11 ·
Won't fix anything but top end, bike I bought had the same thing... I have 2615 in the engine alone... 700 in crank and rings, 200 in random stuff like oil pump water pump chains etc, 600 in having the bottom end labor done, 200 in a trade/purchase on used cylinders and pistons from a guy doing a 840 upgrade on a new bike,400 in having heads redone and ultra sonic cleaned, and about 500 in other random parts from upgrading gaskets to moly grease to shipping costs and gas driving to and from VA to drop off and pick up the bottom end... I would budget 2k and that's stock, if you go bbk I say an extra grand for the kit then you got to figure cams and probably should upgrade valve springs and valves too

There a lot more to it than u think, mine cost $1700 to go back stock, was priced at $2400 for std bore and over $3 grand for 840, that's replacing everything. Your goin to have to replace everything on bottom end or at least I would to be on the safe side

#13 ·
Yea I talked to the guy at DSC and its going to cost around $2200 to get it rebuilt

and i think there from la too .. i personally think that anything over an 840 is not going to be trail friendly . i would try to go hc standard bore 1st and if that cant happen then go 840 .. but i just own a honda so i dont count ..lol

^ have to agree. Walker is about the only person that can vouch for my brute, but it's really all anybody needs for just riding. Hands down it spanks my renegade on low end power, and it would give the gade a close run on top end if I didnt have the teryx bevel gears in it.
